Tai Yuan Seafood Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Tai Yuan Seafood Restaurant, tucked quietly within the King Plaza Center of Daly City, you find yourself settled into a space that hums with a comfortable, unhurried rhythm. The air is tinged with the inviting aroma of ginger, garlic, and fragrant spices—an immediate hint at the thoughtful craftsmanship woven into every dish. It’s the kind of spot where lively conversation blends effortlessly with the occasional clatter of dim sum carts and chopsticks, setting a welcoming tone that feels familiar yet respectfully attentive.
The atmosphere is straightforward, without pretense, striking a balance between casual neighborhood favorite and authentic Cantonese dining experience. Whether you arrive midweek for lunch or around dinnertime when the room grows busier, the flow remains steady, inviting you to slow down and savor the moment. The staff, quietly efficient and patient, add to this sense of ease, making an impression through their gentle attentiveness rather than overt showmanship.
Here, the food is central to the experience without overshadowing the calm comfort of the surroundings. Dim sum arrives in carefully crafted bites, each offering layers of subtle flavors—from delicate shrimp dumplings to the more adventurous chicken feet in black sauce, reflecting a culinary heritage that honors both tradition and the everyday. The seafood is fresh and handled with care, whether in a warming broth or braised alongside ginger and onion, reinforcing that this is a place where the ingredients and the shared experience matter equally.
Patrons often linger just a little longer, encouraged by generous portions and just-right prices. The menu reveals itself as a thoughtfully curated map of familiar flavors and occasional surprises, meant to be savored slowly with company. Parking may require a moment of patience during peak hours, a quiet testament to the restaurant’s steady popularity among locals who return not simply for a meal, but for an inviting space where good food nurtures connection.

Came here on a Friday for lunch because I was craving some dim sum. I thought the restaurant would be crazy busy because the parking lot was very full, but most of the people were doing some grocery shopping. As we walked into the restaurant I noticed that it was probably about 70% full, but they were still tables available. Once we sat down, our menu was placed on the table, and we ordered our tea. Ordering is fairly typical of most dim sum restaurants, you mark what you want on a piece of paper hand it to the waiter and they will input your order. We ordered quite a few dim sum dishes as well as beef chow fun. Some highlights that I definitely suggest are the beef meatballs, har gao, and siu mai. Prices are a little high, but food is nice and fresh.

Pan fried chive dumplings - I had this several times here. Always comes out HOT and delicious. It's worth the wait. Pork blood - yum! Giant clam with vermicelli in soy and garlic. - this one is so good it's hard to share. If you like mushrooms, Vegitable Noodle Rolls are good. Not a lot of dim sum places have it.

Wedding hall or restaurant, take your pick! Fresh steamed fish is what we came for, and we were rewarded for our presence The staff was knowledgeable and patient, and the food was fresh and delicious! We were the last people to leave, and they were really nice about our showing up late thanks to all of the staff for having a clean environment and delicious late night food

Great place and good customer service, they have so many options on their menu and most of the things we ordered were really good. The highlight for me was the eggplant with fish and the roast duck. The beef noodles was not something I personally liked. Overall great experience and the price is reasonable.

Great food, good sized portions and decent priced Cantonese cuisine. Parking lot can be crowded at times. Currently ( December 2017 ), they have a special for the Peking Duck during dinner, Monday - Friday. Daily Dim Sum. Credit cards accepted.

This dim sum restaurant hits all the feels. We came just a bit after 1pm which is after the lunch rush. All the dishes came hot off the steamers which is likely because we came after the lunch rush. We ordered the usual items when I have dim sum with my family (ha gao, siu mai, fong zhou, lo mei gai, etc.). For three people, this amount of food was just right.

First ‘post’ pandemic visit and was not disappointed. Food was still delicious and service was prompt. They were quick to whisk away empty dishes, which was great because we needed the table space for all the food we ordered. Cost has gone up a little and portions seem a little smaller. And instead of selecting food off carts and trays, you order in advance. When the food promptly arrived, it was piping hot and so very delicious. The place was packed, with tables nicely distanced. Worth coming back again and again.
